Step 2: Get specialist advice and decide on the fire you love most.
Step 3: We provide a quote based on some size estimations and book a survey if needed.
Step 4: Choose whether you would like to source an install team yourself or we can provide details of teams that have worked for our customers in the past with great results. We can even handle all of the booking and communication for you.
Step 5: If you’ve asked us to book an install on your behalf, we will communicate with the relevant teams to get dates and details on the build. You can sit back, relax and let the professionals do their work.
Step 6: Paperwork is not the most fun step but it is important. You need to check you have invoices for purchases and installations. Any relevant certificate of compliance from people such as HETAS or GasSafe and to register any extended warranty with the manufacturer.
Solid Fuel Stove Installation: When choosing someone to install your wood or coal-burning stove you must use a team that’s registered by a relevant competent person scheme such as HETAS. HETAS require that each registered person is fully trained in this specific type of installation and can do so safely and efficiently. We can provide details of an experienced local team that have installed our products many times. We can even handle the booking for you to make your project as hassle-free as possible. – Please remember to ask for your installer’s HETAS card.
Gas Fire: Any gas installation in a UK home must be handled by an experienced gas engineer approved by GasSafe. This evidence of competence relates only to matters of gas safety and is obtained by every engineer through a recognised route of training and assessment (much as the DVLA issues driving licences to those who have demonstrated their competence by passing a driving test). – Please remember to ask for the installers GasSafe card.
Electrical: Similar to finding a gas engineer, when searching for an electrician to install lighting, sockets, switches etc they must have the relevant certifications to work on that specific area in a UK home. Again, we can provide details of a tried and tested, local team that has worked for many of our customers, and if you like we can handle all of the booking for you.
Please Note: You should ask the install team for proof that they have the relevant approval and certifications and that these documents are up-to-date. HETAS and GasSafe engineers have to renew every year.
